Declaration on accessibility

Millstätter See – Bad Kleinkirchheim – Nockberge Tourismusmanagement GmbH strives to make its websites seeundberg.at, lakeandmountain.at, and lagoemontagna.at accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

We are continuously working to ensure that our online services are as usable as possible for all people, regardless of individual impairments. Our goal is to provide content and functionality that comply at least with Conformance Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

1. Status of Compliance with the Requirements

The websites seeundberg.at, lakeandmountain.at, and lagoemontagna.at are partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. There are currently known areas that are not yet fully accessible.

2. Content That Is Currently Not or Only Partially Accessible

Below we list the areas and features of our website that are currently not accessible or only partially accessible. The reasons for this lie partly in technical limitations and partly in the ongoing transition and adaptation of existing content.

a) Incompatibility with Accessibility Requirements / Disproportionate Burden

  • Many PDF and Word documents (especially older ones) used on the websites are not accessible. They often lack semantic structure, tags, or correct reading order. If you need content from these documents in an accessible format, please contact us—we will be happy to provide it.
  • Videos and audiovisual media: The videos embedded on our sites currently do not consistently include subtitles or audio descriptions. Retrofitting all existing content to meet accessibility standards would currently pose a disproportionate burden. However, we are committed to providing accessible versions for new productions.
  • Alternative texts and image descriptions: Some images and graphics on our websites currently lack alternative texts or have insufficiently descriptive texts. We are continuously working to add meaningful alternative texts to all relevant content. Our editorial team is being trained and sensitized to this need.
  • Color schemes and contrasts: The color design and contrast ratios on the websites currently do not meet WCAG 2.1 AA recommendations in all areas. This can cause problems for people with visual impairments, especially with colored headings and buttons, hover effects, and map backgrounds. A gradual redesign with more accessible color combinations is planned as part of the new website.
  • Navigation and operation: Certain interactive elements (e.g., mega menus or filters in the accommodation search) are not fully operable via keyboard. Some forms lack proper labels or sufficient ARIA attributes for screen readers. We are working to make navigation and form use more accessible step by step.
  • Linguistic accessibility: We strive to write our texts in a clear and understandable manner. However, individual sections may contain foreign words, abbreviations, or complex sentence structures that are not always easy to read. If you need help with simpler versions, please contact us—we are happy to assist.

The listed incompatibilities with accessibility requirements are being continuously addressed and corrected.

b) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions

  • Time-based media content (video and audio formats) published before 28 June 2025 is not subject to the obligation for retroactive accessibility adaptation.
  • Interactive maps are currently not fully accessible. However, we provide the essential information from these maps (e.g., location descriptions, addresses) in text form on the website.
  • Third-party content: Our website uses services and content from third-party providers (e.g., OutdoorActive for tour data, feratel for booking systems, Social Wall via walls.io). We cannot guarantee full accessibility for these externally provided contents. However, we are in contact with our partners and encourage accessible solutions.

We take the improvement of accessibility seriously and view it as an ongoing process. Identified barriers will be gradually removed step by step.
